Thank you so much for your support and generous donations to my 8th annual charity swim, Dec. 13, 2015. Because of your kindness, the Center for Wildlife made close to $8000 through my swim of the York River and gig with the Serfs at the York Harbor Inn. I can’t thank you enough and you folks made it possible. Besides buying my gear for the swim and hiring the 5 piece band, you guys saved me with added and unexpected expenses.
At the very last minute Maine Fish and Game cancelled on being my boat escort and support team because they weren’t comfortable being involved in a dangerous swim. It certainly wasn’t a smooth event and no one even knew where I was supposed to end the swim, but it all worked out in the end. Everyone was safe, had a good time and we helped a wonderful cause at the same time. Despite having very little publicity, we managed to make close to $8000 for the Center. All because of you!
My neighbor and kayak escort, Lee, predicted that it would take me 3 hours to swim the river. I told him that if I could do the swim in under 2 hours and 15 minutes, he would have to buy me a sausage from that awesome butcher shop in Wallingford Square in Kittery. So when I hit the water I thought to myself, ” I’m gonna learn ya good Lee….. your’e gonna owe me a sausage.” I pretty much sprinted the whole way and made the swim in one hour and 45 minutes.
and I know this sounds insane, but I am offering to do another swim this January or February with the gear you purchased for me. There are several folks I know with serious illnesses who can’t handle their medical bills. I have to stay busy and I’m a much happier man when I can have fun and help someone in the process. So stay tuned, Creekman is not hanging up the suit yet for the winter!
Love you guys and Merry Christmas, Gary Sredzienski
